Why Modern Warfare 2 beta on PlayStation first?
Although Microsoft is in the process of acquiring Activision Blizzard, the deal has yet to be finalized, so Sony’s marketing deal with Call of Duty still stands, which means the Modern Warfare 2 beta will hit stores first. PlayStation consoles.
Thanks to this agreement, PlayStation players have had early access to alphas and betas, exclusive modes, more slots to create a class and free cosmetics in Combat Packs. On June 8, Activision confirmed that PlayStation players would receive the Modern Warfare 2 beta at least five days before any other platform.
Whether Xbox gamers will receive similar benefits when the acquisition goes through remains to be seen, but reports indicate that the PlayStation deal will stick for upcoming CoD games.
