Intel Core i9-13900K Raptor Lake CPU Shows Huge Increase In Compression & Decompression Benchmark 1

Intel Core i9-13900K Raptor Lake CPU Overclocked Up To 6.2 GHz, Over 65% Faster Than 12900K & 5950X

The Intel Core i9-13900K Raptor Lake CPU leaks just don’t seem to end and ExtremePlayer’s latest benchmarks show us some incredible multi-threading capabilities that simply annihilate Core i9-12900K and Ryzen 9 5950X CPUs.

Intel Core i9-13900K Raptor Lake CPU delivers gigantic performance and over 65% multi-threading over 12900K and 5950X when overclocked

Intel Core i9-13900K is Raptor Lake’s flagship CPU, with 24 cores and 32 threads in an 8 P-Core and 16 E-Core configuration. The CPU is configured with a base clock of 3.0 GHz, a single core boost clock of 5.8 GHz (1-2) cores, and an all core boost clock of 5.5 GHz (all 8 cores). nuclei P). The CPU features a combined 68MB of cache and a PL1 rating of 125W that goes up to 250W. The CPU can also draw up to 350W of power when using the “Extreme Performance Mode” that we detailed a few hours ago here.

The tech outlet has published CPU-z, Cinebench R23, and AIDA64 memory and cache comparison tests on three different chips, the Intel Core i9-13900K, Core i7-13700K, and Core i5-13600K using various overclocking configurations and memory DIMMs. . Based on the results, the Core i9-13900K can achieve up to 6.2 GHz overclock on all its P-Cores and up to 5.2 GHz overclock on all its E-Cores. The Intel Core i7-13700K can also reach 6.2 GHz frequency on its P cores, but the electronic cores can only reach up to 4.7 GHz. Testing was achieved on ASUS ROG Maximus Z690 APEX motherboard, while memory overclocks were achieved on the MSI MEG Z690I Unify. The cooling configuration included a liquid-cooled AIO.

As for performance benchmarks, the Intel Core i9-13900K with a P-Core clock of 6.2 GHz and an E-core clock of 4.7 GHz scored 1011 points in single-core tests and 16627, 8 points in multi-core tests within CPU-z. But with a 6.1 GHz P-Core and 5.2 GHz E-Core clock, the multi-threaded score increased by 18%, to 19550 points. The single core score saw little difference, dropping to 991 points, but multi-threaded performance definitely benefited more from E core overclocking considering the total number of E cores is greater than P cores (8 vs. to 16).

As for how this performance compares to existing chips, the Intel Core i9-13900K overclocked at 6.1/5.2 GHz was 65% faster than the AMD Ryzen 9 5950X and Intel Core i9-12900K . This shows just how much performance can be achieved with upcoming chips with the right motherboard and cooling settings through overclocking.

But that’s not all, Intel Raptor Lake CPUs are also shown to offer excellent memory support of up to 7400Mbps on existing Z690 motherboards. The Core i9-13900K supported DDR5-7400 and the Core i7-13700K/Core i5-13600K offered good support for DDR5-7000 memory, while DDR5-6800 is said to be the sweet spot. There is also Gear 1 support for DDR5 memory up to DDR4-4256-CL17. As for power consumption, the Intel Core i9-13900K consumed around 400W of power at more than 1.5V, while the Core i7-13700K consumed around 290W of power at more than 1.5V voltage. 5V to achieve a P-Core overclock similar to 6.2GHz.

Judging by the power numbers required to hit such frequencies, you’ll need the best cooling settings to keep Raptor Lake in check when overclocking. Intel 13th Gen Raptor Lake Desktop CPUs, including the flagship Core i9-13900K, are expected to launch in October on the Z790 platform. The CPUs will go up against AMD’s Ryzen 7000 CPU lineup, which will also launch in fall 2022.
