A third entry in the Jagged Alliance series has been a long time coming, with at least two attempts to create the game, the most recent more than a decade ago, having failed. Tempest Rising is Slipgate Ironworks’ attempt to capture the magic of classic ’90s real-time strategy games like Command & Conquer, promising a combination of base building and “forceful combat” in an alternate 1997 where the Earth has been devastated by nuclear war. Outcast 2: A New Beginning

Another well-loved oldie given the revival treatment, Outcast 2 was announced last year, promising the return of the series’ goofy-named protagonist, Cutter Slade, for another excursion into the alien world of Adelpha. Adopting the same third-person open-world action-adventure template from the 1999 original, Appeal Studios is developing it for release on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Follow a trailer!
