Apex Legends Season 14 “Hunted” Full Details on Vantage, Kings Canyon, and Weapon Changes – IGN

Apex Legends Season 14 Hunted brings some old stuff and some new stuff. Scheduled to release on August 9 next week, there is a lot of anticipation surrounding the new content. The newest Legend, Vantage, is a sniper-focused character who enters the games on the recently reworked Kings Canyon map. There are plenty of new changes to leveling, weapons, Legends, and more, so here’s everything you need to know about Apex Season 14.

New Legend – Vantage

Season 14 introduces the youngest Legend Vantage to enter Apex games at 18 years old. She is Cuban American and is a sniper based legend that will make all sniper gamers very happy.

  • Passive: Observer Lens
    • Vantage can identify targets on the ground on its own and zoom in while unarmed and without scopes.
  • Tactic: Echo Relocation
    • Vantage throws his bat friend in any direction he wants and can dash to where Echo is and double jump once he gets to where Echo is.
    • The cooldown on her tactic is the actual jump itself, Echo can launch in any direction at any time, but Vantage can’t jump until the cooldown resets.
    • The echo can be canceled or restored at any time.
  • Ultimate: Sniper Mark
    • Vantage has its own sniper rifle (like Rampart’s Sheila LMG) that will mark targets it hits
    • His sniper rifle will deal 50 damage, but marked targets will take 100 damage from his rifle and Vantage teammates can deal additional damage when the target is also marked.
    • The mark on a target will only last 10 seconds and No extends through walls or covers, it is strictly a line of sight mark.
    • Vantage’s Ultimate doesn’t have to be fully charged for her to use it, unlike Rampart’s Sheila. Vantage’s sniper rifle can be used at any time as long as the final loadout has loaded enough bullets. The fully loaded sniper rifle will hold five bullets in total.
    • Ultimate Accelerants will charge your ultimate 35% (which is about two bullets)

Vantage has movement abilities as well as long-range sniping abilities, so he will be an absolute threat to players who excel at sniping. He is able to stay at a distance and deal a good amount of damage while also being able to provide recon support to his team, but he can also get out of some sticky situations with Echo or push with his team using the abilities of movement of him. It will be interesting to see how Vantage performs in ranked and competitive.

Apex Legends Season 14 Map Changes

Kings Canyon is getting a major facelift in the southwest corner where the infamous Skull Town used to exist. Between Salvage and Octane’s Gauntlet now lives Skull Town’s newest replacement called Relic. It adds mass where the map used to be just a giant gap between the two POIs, adding more loot and rotations. The POI cage has been redesigned to be a less high point for teams to barricade, as its floors have been lowered and the outer cage has been removed.

Broken Relay has added more buildings to its location and it has been renamed Basin and the unnamed waypoint between Containment leading to Capacitor has also been opened. Kings Canyon also implemented a new skybox to add vibrancy and clarity to the overall map. Made some changes to the map to also increase the flow of the center pivot points. The Kings Canyon loot pool has been adjusted to improve loot drops across the map.

Season 14 will feature Kings Canyon, World’s Edge, and Stormpoint map rotations with qualifying focusing on Kings Canyon for the first division and Stormpoint for the second.

And speaking of loot, here are some big gear changes for Season 14:

  • The gold backpack will carry 6 more items and will feature a deep pockets bonus where you can carry stacks of three shield batteries and med packs instead of two. Gold Backpack will no longer revive teammates with extra health or shields.
  • The Gold Knockdown Shield will no longer include auto-revive, instead taking the place of the previous Gold Backpack Guardian Angel bonus, where you can revive squadmates with additional shields and health.

Here are also the biggest weapon changes from Season 14:

  • SMGS and Pistols will carry a new Laser Sight cannon attachment that reduces the spread of hip fire. (Also Assault Rifles will have a slight increase in fire spread from the hip)
  • The hop up Double Tap is back and can be used on the EVA-8 and G7 Scout
  • The Skullpiercer is back in rotation and can now be used at the 30-30 repeater alongside Wingman and Longbow.
  • The Wingman will now take sniper ammo and use sniper attachments and even with a gold mag the ammo will only stack up to 20.
  • The Spitfire will now carry light ammo and light attachments and with the gold mag, it will only have 60 stacks.
  • The Eva-8 has a slight buff to its rate of fire and will add stocks to your list of attachments.
  • The 30-30 repeater will automatically come with Dual Loader now and will reload two shots at once.

In addition to these weapon changes, the Volt SMG and G7 Scout are back in ground loot and the Bow and Rampage have been added to Care Package weapon rotations.

New level cap

After years of players reaching level 500, there is a new leveling system that allows players to level up to 2000 times in Season 14. Think of this new system as a prestige system. Once you reach level 500, your level badge will change to a gold border and your level will return to 1, indicating that you have gained prestige for a round. You can do this up to four times and earn more free loot boxes as you level up.
