When will my phone get Android 13?

With one of the first version changes in recent memory, will Android 13 rush to your device?

Android 13 may not be as successful an update as Android 12 was. Still, it should bring a much-needed wave of stability and refinement to last year’s newer items, while also introducing spooky behind-the-scenes changes to application developers. Whether your arms are wide open or you’re bracing for impact, we’re working to get you answers on when your phone or tablet will get Android 13.

ANDROIDPOLICE VIDEO OF THE DAY

As of August 1, we’re still waiting for Google to distribute stable Android 13 images to its Pixel phones, in addition to distributing generic images and updating the Android Open Source Project repository. Other Android manufacturers will be in charge of adapting the new software to their devices, which will take at least a couple of months. We will update this article with expected dates as they are announced and links to relevant information.

In this initial draft of the list, we focus on brands and devices generally available in North America.

ASUS

This Taiwanese tech brand offers beta programs for testers eager to try out new versions of Android, but it hasn’t been too quick to roll them out to the rest of the user base.

Once owned by Google, the Lenovo-owned manufacturer has fallen out of favor in the software department. It will usually stick with two OS updates and two years of security patches for flagships and possibly an improved OS for other devices.

This is another fallen star in terms of Android updates. In late memory, it had to delay Android 10 and 11 releases for certain devices. For Android 12, an OTA was only promised to a registered device. We have no expectations here.

OnePlus (Worldwide)

Oppo-owned OnePlus has slowed down in terms of speeding up Android pulses to its phones. Some of this is a function of the recent codebase merger between OxygenOS and ColorOS. Supposedly, things should be more efficient once the developer teams settle in. We are crossing our fingers.

Samsung

The world’s largest Android phone maker has stepped up its software update commitments in recent years. More and more devices get more OS updates and more security updates for longer. The company plans four OS updates and five years of security patches for its 2022 releases.

Android 13 will be paired with One UI 5.0 on Galaxy devices. We expect newer releases to get the update as soon as a couple of months after Google’s stable release.

It might be time to upgrade

As we update this list, we may modify our scope to cover OEMs in other areas and their device portfolios specific to those regions. For now, we’re just waiting for Google to kick off the game by releasing the stable images for its supported Pixel devices. If you don’t see your device on our list, don’t worry; We should learn a lot more about the manufacturers’ roadmaps once Android 13 is released. If you own an older phone or know you’re not getting an Android 13 update, it may be time to upgrade to one of the best Android 13 phones out there. Android.
