Apple September Event: iPhone 14, Apple Watch Series 8, and more to expect

Apple September Event: iPhone 14, Apple Watch Series 8, and more to expect

In less than two months, Apple is likely to hold its traditional September event. If the company follows the trend, this will be the most important keynote of the year. Although there are several products that Apple could be preparing, there are two that people expect the most, the iPhone 14 series and the Apple Watch Series 8. Here’s what Apple may announce at its September event.

iPhone 14 at Apple’s September event

The iPhone 14 series will be the star of Apple’s September Event. With four new models set to be unveiled, expect plenty of hype for the new iPhone 14 Plus/Max. Although the regular models will not have much to differentiate from the current generation of iPhone 13, a larger model will be a nice addition.

At Apple’s September event, expect big changes to the iPhone 14 Pro, as previously reported 9to5Mac. A new design, a better processor and great improvements on the camera side. The iPhone 14 series will likely be one of Apple’s biggest releases in years.

Three new Apple watches arrive

BloombergMark Gurman has been reporting that Apple will introduce three new Apple Watch models in 2022, which he called the biggest update to the Watch in years.

These watches could be presented at Apple’s September event. The Apple Watch Series 8 will at least get a new body temperature sensor and better battery life. The Apple Watch SE is likely to get an upgrade, while Apple is also preparing a beefy “Pro” version of the current watch with a different design and premium finish.

AirPods Pro 2 at Apple’s September event

AirPods Pro Recall

In addition to the iPhone 14 series and the new Apple Watch models, Apple could present the new AirPods Pro 2 at its September Event.

With a design similar to the current generation, 9to5Mac Sources confirm that the next AirPods Pro model, codenamed B698, will feature the next version of the H1 chip, Apple’s own audio processor. Additionally, references for LC3 codec support in the AirPods Max beta firmware suggest that the AirPods Pro 2 could be the first to add Bluetooth 5.2 support.

This codec will bring more stability and efficiency to wireless headphones. Not only that, but this new standard will help AirPods Pro 2 improve the sound quality of voice calls and songs with higher bitrate support. Although Bluetooth Low Energy and the LC3 codec do not promise “lossless Bluetooth”, they will surely improve the sound quality a lot.

Apple Mixed Reality Headset

Rumors about Apple Mixed Reality headsets have increased over the past year. During Apple’s September Event, the company could revive Steve Jobs’ “One More Thing” phrase to tease the company’s next Mixed Reality headset.

Rumors currently expect it to be unveiled later this year and start shipping in 2023. Apple’s September event could be the perfect time for Apple to reveal to the public that it’s entering a new market.

For example, earlier this year the company teased that it is working on a new Mac Pro without further details.

The new Macs and iPads could arrive a little later

Apple September Event

Apple is also expected to introduce several new Macs and at least two iPads in 2022. While the company introduced a new MacBook Pro in October, Apple could be preparing another keynote a month later to bring new Macs and iPads.

In today’s newsletter, BloombergApple’s Mark Gurman said that Apple has new high-end Mac minis and MacBook Pros due later this year. 9to5Mac Sources have already confirmed that Apple is working on the 10th generation base model iPad and a new iPad Pro.

When will Apple hold its September event?

Apple usually holds its events on Tuesdays. If the company follows the trend of recent years, the keynote address could take place on September 13, as it is the second Tuesday of the month.

Although nothing is confirmed, and there are no rumors about the possible date, it is common sense that this could be the perfect time for the company to introduce the iPhone 14, the Apple Watch Series 8 and more.

Since WWDC 2022 had a hybrid experience, perhaps Apple is finally preparing the first in-person event of the year for the iPhone 14 launch.
